Finally back in the game again, this time with an upgraded computer. Thanks very much to Han and the Team for giving us the Spitfire IXC, now I will able to upgrade all my Normandy Missions with the correct Spitfire. I picked this mission first, because it involves Clostermann flying by himself, easy to upgrade.

Pierre Clostermann volunteered for this mission - a 'radar calibration flight' for the British Radar coverage over France. He fly's a pre-planned route and soon run's into trouble!

My new computer specs are:

• Gigabyte 2390 Aorus Ultra motherboard
• Gigabyte 'Vision' GeForce RTX3080Ti graphics card
• Intel i9-9900k processor
• Corsair RAM DDR4 32GB @3200mhz
• 1TB and 2TB Samsung SSD's

The graphics and processing speed are vastly improved. I am not sure about trying VR?

I noticed a couple of 'glitches' flying the mission. 1. The petrol tank gauge doesn't seem to be working in the IXC cockpit, you might have to land sooner when you reach the English shoreline? 2. I can't seem to get the German Heavy AA working when you crossover the French coastline.

Did you know there's a keybind for the Spitfire fuel gauge now? That may be your issue.

 

Thanks for all your Spitfire missions. It's my favorite plane in the game. I can't say I'm looking forward to the puny 303s though.

I m flying VR with HP reverb G2 and a standard 3080, and i am having a blast at it. Never played with monitor since i switched 2 years ago.

Dunno, when they changed it, but you need to manually activate the tank gauge to display fuel level in the Spit now. That bird would really benefit from a drop tank. Too bad that might never come.

Hi 'agile-aardvark' yes, I will gradually work through them all to upgrade them to the Spitfire IXC.

Thanks 'sevenless', I did see that petrol tank manual change, then forgot, too much happening. You are right, drop tanks are not the priority now. I saw Han talking about them on one of his game briefs - hopefully one day?
