Head position in VR.

I'm having an issue with resetting my head position in the cockpit. Every time I reset it, it moves my head position to the left of center. I've tried to figure out what key binds to us to move my head forward, back, left and right but nothing seems to work. Also, is there a way to change the aspect ratio? The default setting makes the cockpit appear too large.

Move your head to the center right, then do reset. After that it should be in the center. There is a VR subforum here where all questions have been discussed and there are some tutorials.

I tried doing that but its not very accurate. It's hard to get my head in the right spot. Also, if I recenter again, it pits me back to the left. I looked for a VR section, didn't see it.

I lean to where I'd like my head to be and then I hit F10 to lock that into the aircraft's settings. "Recenter" view and it your head position will move a little to the new default. Repeat the process until it is what you want.

What do you mean, aspect ratio? VR doesn't have an "aspect ratio".

 

Do you mean the interpupillary distance? That's something you'd need to set in the VR environment (e.g. SteamVR) you're using.

Well, yes you can call it IPD. Other games, DCS, have a VR setting section where you can change the aspect of the cockpit to look correct for the individual. I want to change the world scale so the cockpit looks smaller.

I found a couple IPD adjustments in the service section of key mapping. Those did change the cockpit size but messed up the view to where it was uncomfortable.

If you use SteamVR then you are better off changing the world scale there, if you are using OpenXR via OpenComposite then you can use the OpenXR Toolkit to set worldscale. The IPD setting in IL-2 is a bit of a misnomer as it's actually the inter camera distance that it changes but unfortunately it also changes their angle, which is why you find it uncomfortable when tweaking it.
