jollyjack Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 (edited) Is there a way to put any cargo like a vehicle on the deck of a Landingcraft ship, and make it move along stuck in place? That as linked entity, or maybe as static vehicle? Seems the placed object cannot be adjusted in height and always seems half sunken in to the deck. Edited February 18, 2024 by jollyjack
Sketch Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 No you can't, but you may be able to fake it a bit. To fake it, you could have the landing craft move into position, and if it makes it to land, you can then spawn in vehicles as if they left the landing craft. 2
IckyATLAS Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 I do not remember well but there maybe some objects like crates that can be at a higher height than ground so maybe for a static Landingcraft you may fake it a little. If it is a floating LCT that may be a problem as it will have a static motion and objects will be fixed. None of these solutions are satisfying. This is why I mentioned in the past to have the same LCT empty and loaded with either infantry or tanks (depending on the LCT model). This means adding to the vehicle list two versions of the same LCT. The objects in the loaded LCT are static and part of the LCT model. This is simple to do as it is a modification of the existing LCT model in a new version. By doing this you have to create a infantry object (but you have the models anyway) and you have already some static tanks and vehicles that you can use. So frankly that's not much work. But devs have other plans. In this way you would have the loaded version moving at sea. Once on the shore, you can delete the loaded LCT and spawn the empty version on the same spot, and then have the animated infantry that we have already or tanks or vehicles spawn on the shore in front of the empty LCT and move away. I did this already and it works very well. 1
jollyjack Posted February 21, 2024 Author Posted February 21, 2024 (edited) Certainly will dive into this ... alas enough time for this fun fails me right now. thnx ADDED: could not find a way to put stuff on a static LCT, as there seems to be none .. Edited February 22, 2024 by jollyjack
