Electronic version... how does it work?

Hi all.

 

Because I encountered some trouble with my '1946 DVD (which dates back to December 2006) I just purchased on line the dematerialised electronic version of the game on gog.com ( https://www.gog.com/en/game/il_2_sturmovik_1946 ). So... how does it work? Do I need to launch my personal account at gog.com every time I want to play the game, same as with "Cliffs of Dover" which requires Steam for being played?
