I voted other, A P-40 campaign would be awesome if the planned FM improvements turn out to make viable!! That would easily be my first choice.

I'd say the same about the P-47 but truthfully we already have a lot of content for it. Maybe a D-22 campaign in Normandy might complement the Overlord campaign? Haven't flown it so can't say. We do already have Hell Hawks AND Hurtgen Forest which are some of the best campaigns in the game, so we really aren't wanting for more.

I know of 1 person who is working on a P-40 campaign now. I agree that would be fun after the engine is tuned up a little bit.

You are right about the P-47, although there is nothing out there for the D-22 yet. Unfortunately almost anything except a pre-invasion scenario is going to cover ground that has already been done and I already know how much people like flying back and forth over the English Channel.

I´d like to see a pink Spitfire FR IX recon campaign, I really enjoyed the Invasion Watch campaign which was simply something different. I´m not sure if it´s reasonably doable with all that low level tactical flying and current game mechanics. Functionality that allows you to take "pictures" of what "the camera" actually sees would be great, I hope to see it in the game one day.

I did that in the Arado 234 Single mission over the invasion beachhead. It can be done, you just have to edit an overhead screenshot from the ME and display it on screen when the camera is activated.

Ah if only the new spitfire came with older engine options like the merlin 61 there coud be a 1942 battle of Dieppe campaign ? i guess it coud be done in other planes but many of them are collectors.

It would be interesting, but the oblique camera of the Spitfire FR IX could be a problem. There is a "photorecon_oblique" gfx file in the game, but I am not sure how it works and if it works at all.

Macchi MC202

Seconded, would love to see this. This plane doesn't get enough love. Best looking cockpit in GB IMO.

For my "other" I go with the Macchi and IAR. Would be nice to fly another Axis country than Germany. Even though their radio messages are still in German.

Because you would understand Romanian radio calls?

Unfortunately the Macchi is kind of an outlier at the moment without a good map or the right adversaries. We could use the Hurricane, Spitfire Vb, the improved P-40, the P-47 D-22 or the Lightning with OD paint I suppose.

The IAR-80 seems more possible on the Stalingrad map.

Given that I speak some French and a bit of Latin, probably a lot better than I understand the Russian ones :P

Actually, I don't really care about being able to understand what's being said - the translation is given in the box on the left. But people speaking a language they're not supposed to is somewhat of an immersion breaker for me.

I feel the same way. In Sturmovik 1946, I liked my Finnish careers , even though I didn't understand a word of radio messages. I´m a fan of Aki Kaurismäki´s films and the only word I ever understood was "jukeboksi" :-)...but in another language it would be somehow imperfect.

Yeah, the 202 is a practically a white elephant in this game. I've always felt that there were plans to go to North Africa after BoM and the Macchi 202 would be a stepping stone for that but it never came to fruition. They should've made the Macchi 200. Yes, it wasn't at Moscow but saw a lot more action on the Eastern Front than the 202.

That would make for an interesting campaign.

Yes, you have a lot of mission options, and all the relevant airfields til the end of December 1942 when they started being pulled back to Romania are all there. Dive-bombing, bomber escort, free hunt, they did a lot of work.

I would love a IAR campaign made to your standards.

Or on the planned Odessa map, if you are willing to wait for it and also for the I-153. Early war Soviet aircraft would be much easier opponents for the IAR-80 than late 1942 planes. The only problem is, that we are missing the SB-2 for such a campaign.
