Always lead your flight?

Is there a setting in PWCG or IL2 that allows you to always lead your flight regardless of rank? Following the flight path is quite boring, especially around the airfield when gaining altitude.

You can manipulate the formation order in the mission briefing.  Just bring your guy to the top

If you create your career with your pilot as squadron commander or if your pilot is promoted/appointed to squadron commander, then you can.

Hi Pat - can't see any way of bringing myself to the top (in order to lead the flight) on the Briefing page?

 

Ahh, managed it by clicking on all pilots to delete, and adding me back in first

Click on your pilot(make sure the radio on the left is filled in), then use mouse wheel to move up or down. That's what I do.
