User Input Trigger:

Summary: A Trigger that can add items to the Command Menu2024_2_10__21_54_24.thumb.jpg.2c821ded336203e60ec26cba175d6f2b.jpg

Detail: Often, mission designers want to give the player the ability to trigger something. For example, you might want the player to give a signal to turn on runway lights, (e.g., as in Nightfighters Over The Kuban), to switch the flight to an alternate set of waypoints / alternate target, or to signal that a escort is ready to link up, or that they can disengage and return home.

Right now, this is usually done with a Complex Trigger and flares, but that limits the number of options and doesn't always make sense in context.

I suggest a User Input Trigger. It should have a (localizable) text string and any number of Target links. When triggered, it adds that text string to the command menu (or to one of the sub-menus) in the next available slot. If deactivated, it removes the item from that slot, and if that menu item is selected, it triggers all of its targets.

Good suggestion!

I have started to use the modified artillery spotting script with 8x8=64 available buttons for commands during flight.
