Please help! I have two identical computers, one with 1070 and one with 1080 ti both with quest 2 vr

The one with the 1080 ti has lower fps in IL2 then the one with the 1070 with the same graphic settings.

The 1080 ti has very low fps, like 35fps and the GPU usage never goes over 40 percent.

The 1070 stays at 71 fps and runs 90%+ GPU usage.

Any idea what setting could be causing to 1080 ti to run so slow in IL2? It doesn't do this in other games so it has to be something with IL2, steam VR or something like that.

It looks like something else beyond the 1080Ti is happening in that computer.

Have you tried to swap the two cards?

You can display from the Developer section of SteamVR the Advanced Frame Timing, this can give you tips about it.

I'll have to check that dev section out. thanks.

I have not swapped the cards because the 1080 ti works fine with all the other games on that computer including other non-steam VR games.

This issue only comes up when I'm using IL2 and steam VR.

Not sure if using or not using Open XR would make a difference.

Something similar happened to me before where the game was locked at 60 FPS like vsync from my monitor was being forced to the headset.  Assuming you don't have any kind of motion reprojection enabled.  In the IL2 launcher setup try unticking VR, launch the game, exit, then retick VR.

I figured it out. It seems the Nvida control panel was changing the settings in each game and it had changed the settings for IL2. Even though I was changing the overall settings it was not changing the game specific settings. If you are having a problem with a specific game you might want to check these settings.
