Hello,
for quite a few years now, and with various changes in equipment, I've always had problems with "stop" and freezes, particularly on the rhenanie and normandy maps, when flying near densely populated cities or at very low altitude near rooftops.
on the other hand, when there are only trees and water or very low density, I don't have any problems.
the problem is present even if the graphics are defaulted in the newly downloaded and installed base game.
all other simulators/games work optimally without any problems.
of course, the drivers are up to date and everything is fine on this side.
the pc is normal, with no particular problems
the problems occur in single-player mode, I don't play multiplayer.
we're in 2024 and i've noticed these problems in 2020.
do you have a solution so that these problems no longer occur and that this game can be played normally like the others?
Thank you very much.
Sincerely

Think i've said this now several times. From Rhineland, the devs seemed to go to a new way of producing cityscapes on the map to allow them to more quickly produce large urban areas. If you look at some user's mod work, for instance recreating London, you can see this more clearly. From Rhineland,  large sections of generic cityscapes, are loaded into the game as one. Their elements do not come into existance gradually dependent on the players view bubble, as on earlier maps.

All this data, loading at once, causes the temporary stutter. Stay over the city for a few minutes and the stutter goes as all the assets are loaded. I never fully experiemented but I assume the lower you are and therefore more detail is required, the worse the effect. I've gone through from a GTX1080 and old I5 to a 5600X and 3080 with no difference. I do not know if those with larger Vram have a better experience but I would doubt it as the game doesnt seem use even the 10GB ofVram in a 3080 to a point where it is close to full.

My answer to it all was to not play those maps and, eventually, the game. No solution I know but there we go.

I use this program to prevent standby memory overflow, and in some situations with IL-2 where loading too many resources too quickly bogs things down, it automatically resolves the issue.

Interesting. Are there any guidelines on how to configure it?

I just use the defaults (Purge at 1024 MB, check every 4000 ms), and set the timer resolution to 1 ms.
