=J18=Eck Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 (edited) I searched and found this older reply regarding ground battle effects. Quote Ground fire does come from a Linked Entity object (gun, vehicle, ship, etc.) placed on the map If you place a machine gun or vehicle with an "Attack Area" command object linked to it, you can set the Attack Area to "Attack Ground" and it does not need a target to fire at. If you set it to "Attack Ground Target", it will only fire at enemy linked entities If the Attack Area radius is large, it will fire in various directions, and the smaller it is, the more concentrated fire you will get. If you set the Attack area near the ground, it will fire straight ahead If you set the Attack area up in the air, it will shoot all over the place. You can spend hours setting up ground battles that spawn, despawn, shoot at each other, move around, destroy objectives, you name it. I setup a command for attack area with machine guns (unlimited ammo etc) and tied them to a trigger Activate that was a target of the begin mission translator. The MG units do not fire at the area I designated. I have also played with the "time" value for the attack area command but no luck. Edit: Solved ☝️ Range for target area was too far. 2. I setup dummygroundexpl effects tied to a Command Effect to the same activate trigger and mission begin trigger. Is this the proper way to simulate ground explosions in a mission? They are also not doing anything when I test it. Is the Activate Trigger the correct one? What am I missing. Edited February 8, 2024 by JGr2/J5_Eck Report solved.
