VR Beta Testers: Latest patch should give large improvement in framerates

Hello all VR Beta testers

 

We have recently put out a new patch for the VR Beta.

 

We are seeing frame rate improvements by a factor of 2 X or better with some headsets.

 

Please take the opportunity to test and comment on your particular piece of equipment.

 

 

*** Rendering of static objects (buildings) improved for better framerates [ATAG_Colander]

*** VR, Update OpenVR from v1.26.7 (Aug 2023) to v2.0.10 (Nov 2023). [OBT~Mikmak]

*** TrueSKY, fix weather GUI sliders that doesn't work when "Medium Clouds" weather preset is used on Tobruk map. [OBT~Mikmak]

*** Core, fixed cord rendering issues causing crashes in some cases ("Bomber Intercept-London" quick mission). [ATAG_Colander]

***Sound Fix: Corrected an issue which caused certain aircraft engine sounds to bypass the Master VCA (Volume Slider). [Slipstream]

***Sound Fix: Corrected a small issue with 3d positioning across all events. [Slipstream]

Very sorry to report that ever since the latest patch, I've had serious problems regarding screen freezes in game play now increasingly in the very beginning of the first flight,or menu screens. Before the patch, if I cleared out "Cache"  I had a reasonably good chance of completing two missions before the dreaded screen freeze, so obviously something is amiss. I've tried everything I know , from checking game files, or deleting game Beta through Steam, and reinstalling, to deleting both versions of game and reinstalling both, to a completely ( after completely deleing both versions from my C : Drive and reinstalling both and of course changing settings from "low" to "very high" an in between. )No luck with any of these shots in the dark. I've played and enjoyed this sim from the very beginning, but now I just can't get it playable- its in "injured reserve" until someone works out the kinks in a universal "all-solving" patch. I look forward to that happy day when we all can walk into the "sunlit highlands" and giving Jerry what he so richly deserves!
