EA for the next installment.

I just hope that Early Access will start within a month of the announcement this Spring or better yet along with the announcement. It's been a frustrating wait for all of us and I don't want to wait an additional few months for EA.

Thank you

I doubt Korea early access will happen that soon.

If they were close to EA, they would have officially announced already I think. We're probably 2-3 years away from release at this point and it seems we're getting a whole new game engine/platform.

I am not sure about your latter statement

As I understood it it is a refurbished old game engine. With room for adequate improvements.
Since I personally isn’t keen on Korea I do want to know what improvements. If they show to be significant I might buy it. Because then it will be a top cfs game.

It's unlikely that they'll do that because it would be a giant undertaking. Most game engines are evolutions from previous versions.

Yes, that's what it seems like but it also doesn't seem like they will be compatible because of all the new features like AI with simpler flight models for bombers, better net code, DX12, PBR textures for new planes, vehicles, and terrain objects, etc. It also doesn't make sense for them to keep it all within the GB ecosystem and not confirm compatibility and leave it open for interpretation unless it wasn't going to be compatible. The uncertainty has to hurt sales, but confirming no compatibility with existing modules would hurt them more IMO. They avoided this question in the Q&A which many of us asked. I wish it wasn't the case but that's what it seems like if we're being honest with ourselves. I love IL-2 GB and want to see it keep going and see it be brought to the "New Project," but it just doesn't seem likely. I love all of the maps and planes we have and would happily pay a reduced price to see them ported over to the new engine (based on the old) or brought to a new standard of fidelity.

Seems like they said in the video,  it's was about 30 or 40% complete after approximately 1 year of effort.   So, probably not going to see much for at least another year would be my guess.

I'd just like to see anything!

I think we can compare it with IL2 Battle of Stalingard. It was the first module. Did we have an EA back then? Currently we had only an EA because there were other maps to fly new plans. For Korea the map will only be flyable at the end. Where do you wanna fly the EA aircrafts?

We're all thinking about the usual time it takes to develop such a product, with some give-and-take, and it is reasonable not to expect this to enter EA too soon. HOWEVA! This is supposed to be in development already for how long now? Iirc we've been hearing for over an year that something was cooking and they couldnt tell us yet yadayada.

So EA is far as it always is, but, it's been in the pipelines for a while now too.

EA started with two aircraft, then a third... the pace of development seemed slow back then - but the new features were impressive. They do need to finish the map technology and implement enough of the map first though. I suspect this map is much bigger and more complex than the Stalingrad one... so I wouldn't expect early access soon and I'd expect that, the sooner we get early access, the more it'll feel like a tech demo.

It is also worth remembering that we'll only have a couple of aircraft at first - if they go the early access route at all... so it won't be like the situation has been - where a new aircraft can be used in existing maps, existing campaigns, and against already released opponents. It'll feel much more lean at first. It might actually be good for them to hold off until the first five or six aircraft are done (even if it means we have to wait an extra six months or so).

Yup and they keep on keeping on...when everyone already knows it's Korea and there is no point not to announce (even if there's no date).

It's a bit of a travesty that 1CGS still cannot say what is coming, despite apparently having worked on the title for some considerable time so far.

It flies ok to be honest, using a DG505, DuoDiscus and Ls4 in real life

It is absolutely normal for game developers to develop a product for years without announcing it.

And yet two videos totaling about 2 hours run time have been released recently sharing some of the team's plans for the immediate future. ?

Guys, I know it's hard to be patient waiting for more info, but it will come.

Precisely my point, two videos after and people still have no clue of what is going on. That's bad communication.

Is the plane set and the timeframe of the next installment finalized? If so why doesn't Marketing just announce that with other things like new features announced later?

I think the secrecy about what it is exactly, initial planeset, map, etc. is frustrating and a bit silly. I'm sure whatever they come up with will be good though.

Try this. :)

F-80C

F-84

F-86A

F-51

F-4U

B-29 AI

MiG 15bis

Yak-9p

La-11

IL-10

Tu-2 AI

If not this, then almost this.

I like that setup. Just for the sake of argument, I’d suggest the F9F for either the F-80 or F-84, even though I’d want them too.

from their atempt at marketing last 1year+ it looks to me we will not have early access faze, they are now making game and we will be able to buy it when they anounce it and it will be finished product, if they planed ea we would be now playing with airplanes they already said they made.

So from their marketing to me its clear that they are working on new game based on GB game engine+, it is Korea, its gona be anounced in summer, and we gona be able to play it then. They wont anounce it before to make sure everything they plan can be made, and not to have problems like you said you gona make this , why not in game now, ala DT and Marshall and son on...

June 25th could be a date to look forward to.

Hey guys! Been awhile. I’m kinda in the clouds on this subject . So, as far as I can tell from the two briefing videos, we are going to Korea on the same engine and after that we are going to a new engine? Excuse my ignorance if I missed something else.
I guess early access would be flying my new F-86 and mig 15 on the Stalingrad map until we get the map??

so they are using this game game engine as base, improved but still thats shortens the time to make game.

i would expect same like we got with first BoS, small map and 2 airplanes in EA, but we aint gona have EA from how they behave, so in summer i expect full game over Korea map from mid peninsula area to china and 10 airplanes.

They had 2 years till then of work on new game with more ppl they hired, and anytime they say anything they keep saying how all is going great and by plan, so if then after 2 years of work they just show up with 1-2 airplane and small map, lol good luck

Are we nearly there yet?
