Sound like aircraft guns - could the aircraft definitions (which includes calls to weapons definitions passing parameters) be saved somehow in the mission? perhaps selected loadouts on aircraft? So if you went to each aircraft and updated the loadout choice it might work?

ADDED: I figured it out i think. the cause was this MOD being active: 'Realistic Weapons Dispersion'
