Try unplugging your headset and plugging it back in.

Have you manually replaced the openvr_api.dll file in the bin\game directory with the specific version for OpenXR? That usually works for me.

Have you cleaned out all instances of the original openvr_api.dll file anywhere in the game directory? Sometimes, there is more than one. Suggest you download the new OpenXR version from here (under the 'Per-Game Installation' section):

I download the dll from your link (actually it was the one i downloaded before). I found out that there are two openvr_api.dll one in game and one i viewer subfolders. I substitued both of them but i got another error... Am I supposes to delete old dlls before i copy new one in? I really can't figure out what am I doing wrong..

yes, delete old dlls and paste new one (with the same name) in .... if that's not it, I'm afraid you'll need one more knowledgable than me

Did you try change OpenXR runtime to VDXR in Virtual Desktop Streamer?

I'm not using Virtual Desktop. Is it required to run Il2 with openxr?

I am having this same issue with my Quest 3, having to look down to see the menus.  I've tried all the above, the problem exists.  This is what the view likes when I get into the game.  The graphics are very nice, just the the view is screwed up.  I'm sitting directly above the cockpit outside of the plane.

How did you recenter the view?? Maybe I'm missing a function in the game tha allows you to recenter the view?

Try mapping a key to Settings/Keybinds/Pilot Head Control/Default VR View

Awesome, thank you very much!  I have not used my Quest 3 despite having it over 1 year, as I've had a lot of issues with it.  Thankful now it seems to be working properly.

The keybind worked, fixed my issue.
