Can we open up all airfields?

A mild observation / request, but it is a little sad that quick missions have only a small number of airfields available. Would it be a lot of work to make all selectable?

Obvs a very low priority, but it is something that has always bothered me.

I wonder if we could mod the templates oursevles?

That said, my personal priority for the QMB: Be able to save, or at least have it remember user selections for different icons or on different maps... It is annoying to have some nice mission presets for WWI, then fly a WWII map for a bit and lose them when one comes back to the WWI map (as the missions will now show whatever WWII planes you were using)!

I'm sure this can be done in editor by yourself theoretically but that's a lot of work (XYZ positioning, a mission file for each plane and each airfiled, etc.) thus impractical and inconvenient to most users.

More useful gameplay improvements would be addition of night missions in AQMB, in-game stopwatch (either functional cockpit clock or technochat overlay).

Why did you open this topic in general discussion? There's already a thread "suggestions".

You can open your last QMB mission in the editor with the _gen file, which can be re-saved under 'whatever name' as a single mission.

Would be nice to have an in-game re-save option though.

Yes, and it'd probably be pretty easy to implement (except that their efforts are now focussed on replacing the GUI... maybe some of that work will migrate back to the existing version of the sim, but I'm not too optimistic at this point). It'd be nice though... especially if all of the _gen files were reloaded after each patch.

I wonder if we could create a third party utility that would run in the background and do it? Maybe find a way to have a keyboard macro allow saving the mission in the background or reloading it?

There is still the issue that  all missions of a type ('duel' 'skirmish' etc.) seem to point to the same mode though - and, come to think of it, the missions are generated from the UI, so loading the mission from the QMB would overwrite any existing mission. So I suppose the best we could hope for in a third party utility would be saving the mission into a single-mission, and doing that makes it 'fixed'... i.e. you can't keep tweaking it.

Perhaps what would be better would be a third party utility to allow swapping aircraft types within a single mission (i.e. turning a single mission into a quick mission, rather than a quick mission into a single mission). We already have a bit of that with the third party mission generators... the issue, though, is that a lot of them generate much longer missions (i.e. not 'quick' missions).

What might be neat is to have a third party quick mission generator that allow developing detailed templates (e.g. attacking a particular airfield, an anti-shipping mission, an intercept over dover) - so basically hand-craft scripted content for the environment - but then lets the player adjust the number and type of planes, and the time of day/weather... so basically something closer to what Cliffs of Dover has.

The Quick Mission editor needs more options in general
