Delanclip from Vr

This topic has probably been talked about a fair bit ,,but being an avid VR user for 6 years now i just got so fed up of the faff setting it up..I have a pretty fast machine 6950xt and 5800xt cpu .plenty of ram..i can get il 2 gb to run at a steady 80 fpd in vr with tweaking ...but it seems everytime i go to play its just never a case of put the goggles on and go..There is always soemthing to sort out ..and to be honest its become a PITA ..I love the feel of vr ...but i decided to try Dalenclip on my 49 inch ultrawide and im extremley happy ..as i have never used it before its taking some time to orientate myself (which by nature comes a lot easier in vr) but the hassle has gone plus over 100 fps with all the eye candy turned on makes it such a lovely experience now ..Has anyone had this experience..i do get it ..there will be people espousing the greatness of vr and to be fair i get that hence the years i used it ...but maybe there are others that have moved back to 2d ?

Exactly the same boat, even though IL2 is pretty well optimised for VR, as you say, its a real faff. The thing I don't like is just the difficulty in spotting and the fact I can never get VR to run as I want. I have a Quest 2 with a 3080, and can never get about 70fps with any sort of decent graphics, I've spent so long trying to sort it, that like you, I've gone back to a delanclip, and am loving it!

Do you need to have TrackIr to use Dalenclip or can use a Dalenclip Pro (for around 50.00) for all your tracking needs in IL2 GB ?

Every headset has its quirks, particular softwares and routines that have to be followed just so but in time it becomes a familiar task with the occasional glitch to queer a session. I couldn't go back to a monitor now.

I use a DelanClip with my TrackIR camera, but it's definitely not a requirement. I just prefer the ease of configuration with the TrackIR software compared to the other solutions out there.

yep the faff is exactly it ...i may not be "in the cockpit" but i feel almost liberated not having the helmet on lol...i used open xr with open composite to get good frames ..but even so you forget to load soemthing etc and it becomes a real pain
