HazMatt Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 (edited) I played for a bit last night and there was a radar control officer giving us vectors and such. This was the first time for me so I have some questions about this. Is this a new thing? If it is I think it's way cool. How does one do the radar intercepts? Do they have a different interface? How do they see the radar? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Edited January 20, 2024 by HazMatt .
354thFG_Leifr Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 (edited) Hi HazMatt! Sounds like you were playing on CombatBox last night and using SRS to liase with other pilots, and also the RCI-officer for the night. It's great isn't it? Probably the best experience you can get out of BoX in an online environment; it's a shame that the efforts are completely neglected by the development team. Hopefully this video will reveal some of the mystery for you... if I have time later tonight, I'll return to edit this post and directly answer your questions. HazMatt Posted January 20, 2024 Author Posted January 20, 2024 This answers a lot. Thank you! How do the radar operators get that interface? This is great stuff. I couldn't get on the server yesterday because it was backed up. An unrelated question. What sort of hardware upgrades would be needed to get the server up to 84 players max like some of the the other servers? Also is 84 the max/max or could it go higher? Thanks again.

Smooth, realistic and fun to watch. I admire those of you who can fly on this level in a live environment.
Avimimus Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 I always thought it'd be fun to do WWII night fighters - but with just the pilot being directed by ground control or their onboard radar operator ...removing the need to model interfaces. Anyway, it is really nice to have radio direction, and having humans do it must be great! I really should try flying online again sometime.
