Monash Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Hello First up, my apologies if this is posted in the incorrect forum. It wasn't sure where it belongs. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a more elegant solution to an issue I have with multiple TrackIR profiles. I use the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and I play both IL-2 and DCS. I use the TARGET software for IL-2. I don't use it for DCS. I do this because I want to designate one of the keys on the throttle as a modifier key which I cannot do in IL-2 without using TARGET. Since I can assign modifiers within DCS, there is no need to use the TARGET software (which I do not like). Further, DCS does not seem to recognise most of the switches on my HOTAS when running TARGET, but does when TARGET is not running. But this leads to an issue when assigning a keybind the center functionality within TrackIR as my HOTAS is seen as two completely different devises depending on whether TARGET is running or not. (I understand why.) So, I need to create two identical profiles - except for the center keybind, one to use with TARGET (and IL-2) and one without TARGET (and DCS). This is annoying because I am constantly tweaking the TrackIR profile, and once I tweak one version, say the IL-2 version, I then need to delete the old DCS version, save a copy of tweaked IL-2 version to use with DCS, and reassign the center key within the new copied profile. This is frustrating and makes it very easy for errors to arise. So I thought I'd ask if anyone had a suggestion. Please don't suggest using or not using TARGET for both unless there is also someway of overcoming the inability to set a modifier key within IL-2 as that for me is essential and overrides the inconvenience of have two essentially identical TRACKIR profiles. Also, I'm familiar with joystick gremlin, vjoy and similar programs, but I'd rather not use a third party solution. Finally, I acknowledge that the above two restrictions might mean there is no solution other than to continue that I am already doing. Still, I figured there is no harm in asking. Cheers, Monash
