Settings Questions for offline play

Question 1:  How do I turn off the mini map only for quick missions and scripted campaigns.  Is there a setting for only the mini map that can be edited so this feature does not automatically turn itself on when the mission launches.  I use the full screen map because I can read it.  The mini map (both sizes) are useless to me since they render so small on my 2560 x 1440 screen.

 

Question 2:  Is there a setting that will force the way points as seen from the cockpit to render in the measurement selected for the plane I am flying.  I have chosen plane dependent.  I fly the USAAF & RAF aircraft exclusively, just my preference.  The maps and instrument "bar" display all measurements in imperial (MPH, Feet, Miles), but the way points (yellow & red) are displayed as metric, Km.  Is there a setting that can be edited to force these way points to render in imperial units?

Re. Q1 - There was a recent change which resulted in the mini-map defaulting to 'on'.

It wasn't that popular, and I don't like it either.

A case of fixing something that wasn't broken I think.

What I wish I could do is turn off the mini map permanently from auto launching and then unbind the key for it so I don't open it by accident.  Otherwise I wish there was a way to edit a config file to turn it off.
