LLv24_Kuppis Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 (edited) Hi all, first of all, my specs: G2, RTX 4090, Ryzen 5 7800X3D, OpenXR. ingame settings: Preset High, Msaa x 2, Shadows and clouds medium, rest maxed. OpenXR: CAS in 80-100 % sharpness, Turbo On, override resolution around 3184x In OpenXR fps sticks over 90 all time and frame times under 9 Been flying in VR around three years, and finally got tired of lackluster graphics and endless tinkering with settings and upgraded last year to rtfx 4090 + 7800X3D. The visual quality is phenomenal with a little bit added resolution. Picture is insanely sharp and fluid, both in cockpit and landscape, no shimmer, no stutters. BUT I still get moments, when quality of distant landscape drops significantly: trees, roads, cities becomes aliased and jagged with lots of shimmer. This lasts some time, and eventually turns back smooth again. This happens with no changes in OpenXR numbers, frame times are below nine and there´s usually also some overhead. I see this in SP as well as in MP, and in ligher maps, like Stalingrad and Moscow, too. At first I thought could this be because a drop in latency, but as I see this in SP, too, I dont think this is the reason. Any ideas, fellow VR pilots? Is there anything that can be done to mitigate this or is it a feature that one has to learn to live with? Edited January 9, 2024 by SCG_Kuppis Some typos 1
354thFG_Drewm3i-VR Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 It's a game engine issue. Try setting landscape filter to blurred. It helps.
LLv24_Kuppis Posted January 10, 2024 Author Posted January 10, 2024 Yeah, seems so. I used to fly landscape blurred and it indeed helped, but now when I try blurred it feels overdone. Thanks for the reply.

Don't think anything has changed in game. 1
