Mamamango1Chewycat Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 I can't get the game to start. I hadn't played it for some time but the start up page says I have the most recent updates. But when I click on start I get a window saying: D3D-Error, Can not create Direct3DDevice D3DERR-INVALIDCALL Any help?
Rocketman33 Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 I'm hoping someone else has encountered this because I am stuck & nojoy. I was running SOF on my old PC with WIN10 without issues. I just got a new gaming PC with WIN11 & SOF will not run due to a "side-by-side" configuration error. So far I verified a registry key value, downloaded & installed x64 first then also installed x86 Visual Studio C++ redistributable, then restarted. The new error is "newer version installed" which was supposed to be fixed after installing both versions. Microsoft was telling people online that it may be the game publisher's problem but they in turn are saying it's a WIN11 problem. FYI, reinstalling WIN11 is NOT an option. I've unistalled then reinstalled SOF twice as well. Any ideas?
Rocketman33 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Absolutely nothing would work, so I uninstalled SOF and switched to SOF United. Apparently, Steam was able to provide the correct Visual C++ files. I'd rather run the original SOF, but I'm moving on.
