Golitsyno 1941 is a thirteen-mission single player scripted campaign in which the Player will fly the MiG-3 on the Battle of Moscow map.  Missions are from November 15 to December 5, 1941.  This time period is when the Battle of Moscow hung in the balance.  It was a critical time in the war.  The Germans renewed their drive on Moscow, however, their units were thin after so much fighting since June 22nd, and, the Russians have been reinforced with troops from Siberia.  The MiG fighters of 34 IAP, based at Vnukovo, helped to hold the German attempt to take the important city of Golitsyno.

 

***Notes:  A mission is completed when the player lands back at his home airfield.  So, even if targets are not destroyed, if you make it back alive, then you have accomplished the mission!  All missions start on the runway with engine running.  Missions have short flight times.

Thanks! There's not a lot of content for the MiG-3. I suck pretty badly with it, so this should be interesting. ?

Only 3 missions left. this one has been a lot of fun. I like the ground battles that you fly over throughout the missions.

The Mig 3 is a great aircraft too. It flies so well in this game. I love bringing it in for a landing - it feels right.

The 2 x 12.7 guns (though maybe not historically correct in this time period) pack a punch.

Its pretty fast too, and can hold its own against BF109 F2.

Triggered by YouTube documentations about the MiG-3, I choose your campaign to test its FM in IL-2 BoX. That was the right choice, everything fits: Varying mission tasks, brief historical backgrounds, adequate skins and included surprises - creating immersive moments for me. Many thx for that!
