JG4_Moltke1871 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) Hi there, I like to play flying circus career mode but I have to see some missions are just copy and paste what causes some problems or disturb the immersion. Examples: Bomber escort missions: I start on the ground and the flight I have to escort arrives in 2000 meters. With the weaker aircraft’s of WW1 in most cases I can't make up for the height difference and catch the formation to provide seriously air cover over the target. All I can do is pick em up on the way back. In WW2 have same scenario but of course there is no problem because the much more powerful fighter planes. A holding pattern for the bombers could be the solution Bomber intercept missions: The mission provides me continuous updates on the enemy's position. How should that work without radio? It may sound a bit complicated, but perhaps flares on the ground could lead to the target? Icons: I get informations about enemy planes close to observation balloons. Again, how I should receive that informations without radio? Flares that catch my attention should be the only information I get So far I use a mod to remove the Icons. Turn em on and off should be an option for the whole simulation. Improvements about that topics would be very welcome ??? Edited December 29, 2023 by JG4_Moltke1871 1
Gunfreak Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 For intercept and balloon defence Archie generally tells you where to go.
Dr1falcon500 Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 I would have thought that FC career missions would have been rather similar to Rise of Flight, but as you say unfortunately they're based on WW2 missions. Most of the missions don't seem to work too well. The ones that assume WW1 planes are equipped with phantom radios really stretch credibility. The use of flares or rockets would be a good alternative to guide planes to targets, but the flares and rockets are very anaemic. The flare used for RTB isn't much more than a smoke trail. German flak was black and Entente white which would be a good indication of air activity except all AA is black. Are the developers going to change anything to suit WW1?
Dr1falcon500 Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 An idea I've tried for the bomber escort mission that seems to work. After take off fly towards the mission objective climbing as quickly as possibly, around 120kmh. You should be at the same altitude as the bombers and a bit behind before you reach no mans land. I used to circle toward the bombers after take off and that lost speed.
