Mulbin Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 (edited) I have the "spectator view" setting checked to allow free head movement in VR, allowing you to correctly look over the side of your open aircraft... but when I switch to the gunner/observer position the head limit is still in place making it virtually unplayable in any realistic way. In reality the observer of an FE2 was attached to a long tether (not a seat belt) and would crouch, stand, sit, lean over the side etc as needed, but this has a ridiculous locked low position like I'm sitting on the floor constantly and I cant look over the edge. Mulbin Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 Just been and tested other aircraft, its a fault with all 2 seaters so has presumably been in the game for a long time. Is there any plans to fix this flaw? Its horrible and pretty much kills playing as a ww1 observer with any level of realism.
Mulbin Posted December 29, 2023 Author Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) After further testing this is a specific problem only when you take control of the gun, when not in control you can move your head authentically around your cockpit... as soon as you take control you are limited badly to a very small area of head movement rendering this whole aspect of the game completely unplayable in any meaningful or authentic way. Worse still you are locked artificially low to the floor, and to the side of your gun, you cant even put your head in the middle of the cockpit! The only way to bypass the limit if to "nestle" to the gun sight, but that mode (locking your head to the gun itself) is not suitable for VR and is likely to cause vomiting. Devs, please please make WW1 gunnery playable in your game for VR users, its such a big feature to have currently this badly broken. I know we're not the majority of players but there are still quite a lot of us who'd love proper support. Edited December 29, 2023 by Mulbin 1
