[CPT]Rhino06 Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Anyone suddenly have an issue with your crystal where it suddenly shut off during game play? I run a usb c to usb c straight to a wall charger and the other end to my headset. Earlier this week I was flying 2-3 hours without any battery drain and no issues. Last night it suddenly shut off on me during flight and pimax tool said battery cannot charge. I read a few forums that guys are having the same issue but no resolve. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I followed a thread that said to use a wall charger USB c type to run to the headset. The only thing is the wall charger has to be 45 watt minimum. Seems to have cleared up the issue. For crystal users, I was flying the other night and while in flight, my headset went black with a little audio popping noise then suddenly came back on. Anyone have this issue? I'm ready to return it due to this issue but I'm so impressed with the edge to edge clarity. If I only knew this thing wasn't going to have issues, I'd keep it. But I'm impartial. Any thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.

Well, I sometimes have to restart my computer to get it recognized, and I have used tape to better secure the cables into the stock hub, but I really enjoy the Crystal as my neck gets stronger and stronger ?

Yeah, the hub's D-Port connector is shit and I've been planning to tape it up too. Hardly the kind of quality one expects from such an expensive piece of hardware though. 1
DBCOOPER011 Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 I ended up getting the power bank below and it solved my charging problems. I just plugged the USB 2.0 cord from the HMD in the power bank, and the USB 3.0 from the HMD into the back of my computer. Clicking shutdown in pimax play now shows a yellow charging mode instead of the constant restarts I was having.. https://www.amazon.com/Baseus-Charging-Extender-Compatible-Included/dp/B09HBJ1Z96?th=1 1
Panzerlang Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 Lol, I thought the micro-d usb was the D-Port. And that the D-Port was an HDMI. I watched a video (posted Nov 2023) on how to connect the Crystal and it clearly shows that the USB next to the power jack on the hub is now a regular USB slot, not a micro-D. It's the micro-d on the hub that's a janky POS. I've ordered a 65w charger and will be ditching the Pimax hub.
DBCOOPER011 Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 I notice a few sporadic restarts, but not at all as many as I was getting before using the charger. I read there is an upcoming software update addressing it as well. I do notice that this is keeping it charged much better during VR sessions then what the hub did..

Is the headset killing during play?
