shaven37il2 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) Hi - I'm trying to set-up a city fire as a runway marker/lights for night flying but I'm struggling. I can see it's an effect, so I've linked it to mission begin>timer>command effect. After that I can't target link from command effect to the effects (city fires) to trigger them. I've made the events linked entities a well but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm new to using the ME so just finding my away about. Any advice on how to make these work please would be appreciated. P.S. I f anyone knows where an active link to the ME manual is please can you add it to the thread. The link I found on the forum is unavailable. Thanks all. Edited December 23, 2023 by shaven37il2 Missed words in sentance.
Jaegermeister Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 (edited) You need to object link the CommandEffect to the Effect. Right mouse click and "Find Object" Edited December 24, 2023 by Jaegermeister 1
shaven37il2 Posted December 24, 2023 Author Posted December 24, 2023 Thanks Jaegermeister - it works ☺️ It was quite funny when I spawned in; I'd used 'city fire' and it was like someone had ignited 2 fuel bowsers either side of me ?! I've adjusted and static or land fires work well. So for anyone else it's: 1. Target link - begin>timer>command effect 2. Choose the effect you want and make it a linked entity. 3. Object link the command effect>effect. Note - some effects are a one off i.e. last for a pre-determined number of seconds then vanish. Static and land fires stay in situ, a city fire will disappear after a short time unless you select the cityfire_loop. Happy night flying all, next up land lights for RW illumination. Thank you Monty_Thrud for sorting the ME manual download ?
