jollyjack Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) Normandy early map, set CG4a plm 90 to 100m on air start as the c47's, each one single behind a c47 .... NO ROPE seen and they seem to fly on by themselves never the less and then land in the drink ... win 10 LTSC 3080ti. Something i setup wrong maybe? Edited December 24, 2023 by jollyjack

Now puzzling how to organize a large formation ... They start the same if they are enabled or activated. About 90 meters apart tail to nose, same altitude, no links. There is a measurement tool in the ME. Each C-47/Glider has to be a separate flight. Just duplicate them and put them close together to make your formation. They need a loose formation to make turns and will not do a 90 degree turn, use various waypoints at about 30 degree intervals. 1
jollyjack Posted December 24, 2023 Author Posted December 24, 2023 (edited) That's maybe where i went wrong, i had a safe formation set, and have to figure out how and when to AI disconnect the gliders and let them land at a specified field without trees. Some event bingo? Mass flight It now works, trying a formation of 4 sets grouped and 3 times waypointed together in right edge formation seems to work too: PS your Overlord is a nice one. Some event bingo? PS your Overlord is a nice one. Trigger a Force Complete High with Emergency Ordnance Drop checked to the tow plane. If you link a Command Land to the Glider and trigger it right after release they appear to try and hit it. Thanks, glad you like it! Edited December 24, 2023 by Jaegermeister 1 1
jollyjack Posted December 24, 2023 Author Posted December 24, 2023 (edited) done, but they seem to ignore the land command, must try setting a waypoint before land still .. only had a timer sofar. PS Overlord, i only hate that cpmbin stuff, some times i'd like a to make small change of affairs .. like trying it wit another player set. Edited December 24, 2023 by jollyjack

They may not follow the land waypoint, I haven't tested it really. It may have just appeared that they did when I was testing the D-Day Glider mission. You can test thoroughly it for the rest of us and report back. 2
jollyjack Posted December 25, 2023 Author Posted December 25, 2023 (edited) Will do that later .... meanwhile tips welcome, but never the less that waco is great works done by the devs ... Been messing with DCS ww2 stuff a wee bit, but wonder if they'd come up with such clever programming there LoL. Edited August 23 by jollyjack

If I understood correctly, they cannot leave harnessed from the ground? I don't think you understood correctly. They connect automatically when placed at the correct distance from the tow plane
Art-J Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 (edited) ^ Unless he means pickup method by C-47 flying over stationary glider. In that case @REVERENT24 no, this method is not simulated. But traditional takeoff method with glider being towed off the runway - this one works. Edited December 26, 2023 by Art-J 2
