Some questions...

Hi

I used to play Il-2 1946 (and predecessors) way back but lost touch with this series after the initial debacle of CoD release and BoS didn't really fix that for me. Anyway, I've been playing these both more recently after stuffing some extra RAM and an ancient but "better than my old card" 4GB GTX670 into my aged i5-3570k desktop. I have some questions about CoD, in particular:

 

a. What resolution should I really be able to run this game at?

b. Are there some recommended graphical settings?

c. What's the difference between CoD and CoD Blitz?

d. There's still a problem with my MS Sidewinder FFB2 joystick in terms of feedback being there, then not, then back again, then not, which drove me nuts first time around. Are there any

workarounds for this?

e. The sound seems to come and go, especially on external views; again, I remember this from the first time around. Is this still normal?

f. Is there a problem with gun convergence since 20mm rounds seem to just fly through targets?

g. Is there many people still playing this online?

 

Sorry for the long list but I didn't really find answers to all of these elsewhere.

Hello ArchStanton:

 

I just bought GB Normandy and am trying to get it sorted.

 

However I do miss online MP and and still have the old versions 1946 and BAT installed and if your interested would be happy to host a server to fly with you if we have similar versions. I have created some close Dogfight missions so one may reach enemy targets without sprouting any new hair between firey  deaths!

I have a working Sidewinder,

I also have COD and Blitz. COD/Blitz looked pretty and few planes, played for a time then went back to 1946 and 1946 SAS BAT which we always preferred over COD/Blitz.

I've been in and out of the TS server now and again but not seen the odd person in it. If I'm loading 1946 up, I'll check in there first to see if you're about. Can't guarantee any times to play, unfortunately - life isn't that predictable for me ?
