"Error Reading Mission File"

[Zooropa_Fly]

A large number of missions (accessed originally from MP), don't have the MISSION FILE any longer.

I've re-saved them all and tried to open with the MSBIN files - but get the good old error in the title.

Is there anything else I could try ?

if they are default download i can see if i have any backupped, but i only have SP missions mainly. PM me?

Thanks JJ, but they're all MP missions stored from accessing the online servers.

There's quite a few built up over the last few years, so it would a shame if they're all permanently broken - it's a huge amount of potential offline content.

Hopefully I'll get an idea or two pop up here..

I've just noticed that the .CHS file is missing, as well as the Mission file.

Just downloaded

Now I'll update my game to the latest patch for the updated version

and then I'll see what happens

and if I can do anything....

PS: is this the original mission or the mission after you tried to resave missions?

Just checked...

 

Latest editor -> no way (error)

Version 137 -> same

Version 56 -> editor won't start

 

 

I think it's time to hand it over to the devs...

Something must have changed that it makes it impossible to open a mission (bin file) from 2018

And the file date sais nov 13th 2018

Do you have any file before trying to resave present?

The only files that are needed to open a mission are the .mis file or the .bin file.

Unfortunately your .bin file is incomplete and will not resave or open for me either. It is only about 350 kb and a normal file on that map is about 1,500 kb now. I believe that binary file does not have enough information to open in the current version. Sorry...

Looks like they're goosed - hey ho, not the end of the world. (That's probably next year).

I'll delete the ones I can't open sometime soon, and probably collect a few more from the MP Servers.
