I “repurposed” a 32” Samsung TV as my “new” PC Monitor.  And I am stuck on 1366x768 rez which kinda sucks as I was getting 1920x1080 out of my old 24” monitor.
The TV is about 5 years old.

So…:
    - Am I missing a setting?
    - Is this TV too big? What’s typical size these days?
    - Should I just buy a new monitor?  Feel free to offer suggestions.

(This is not at all my area of expertise, so thanks in advance.)

Most likely your TV has a resolution of 1366x768. Check type the model into google. If so, you will have to buy a monitor or TV if you also want to watch TV without using a computer. If not, buy a monitor. Of course, choose the size according to your flying position, e.g. the distance to the screen. Resolution according to your graphics card. I recommend a monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio for the flight simulator. If you previously had a 24-inch monitor, I recommend a 34-inch 1440p monitor.
