TF 8.0 Map: Central Mediterranean, Malta and Sicily

Hello All

 

As the next update on Team Fusion's goals for future development, we will introduce the map for TF 8.0, which will be of the Central Mediterranean area, including the key islands of Malta and Sicily.  This map will also be used for a later module.

 

Thanks to the hard work of our Map Team, below are images from the in game map... from the FMB view and three 3d views.

 

The map is in game and is being actively developed by Team Fusion.

 

Please note, this is early stages, all textures are placeholders, these are not the final textures... and there is no vegetation or buildings yet present.

 

The map will introduce Mediterranean vegetation types... from the Speedtree 8.42 and 9.0 libraries.  It will also introduce a whole new series of Mediterranean building types... including the iconic structures of Malta and Sicily.

The TF 8.0 module will focus on the Siege of Malta, from June of 1940 to October of 1942.

 

It will introduce two Royal Navy Aircraft Carrier types, as well as common Naval aircraft which operated off these ships.

 

TF 8.0 will also add a large number of new Ship types, with many new additions, including the well know Battleship types of the Italian Regia Marina, as well as Cruisers and Destroyers of that nation.  In addition to the Royal Navy Carriers, the module will also add new RN Battleships, Cruisers and other smaller naval types.

 

We hope to have fully player control of ships, both grand-tactically using a pull down map, as well as in first person.

 

TF 8.0 will introduce a number of entirely new aircraft types, fighters and bombers, from both Axis and Allied sides, as well as adding new variants of existing aircraft.

 

All the major airbases, on Malta, Sicily and the Italian islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa will be shown in detail.

This same map will also be used in a later module, which will simulate the Invasion of Sicily.
