how to lock on enemy air target?

Hello, 

I just purchased BOS Great Battles. How do you properly lock onto an enemy air target? I played the origional IL2 game years ago. I remember that you could lock onto an enemy and see your aircraft in the foreground while observing the enemy aircraft or ground target.  I have tried all the key bind camera locks and only see the enemy plane flying by itself without seeing my aircraft. This makes it almost impossible to figure out where they are located while flying. Please help!
