ROF Career vs Flying Circus III Career?

Hey Folks,

 

Been ages since I've posted anything but I purchased FC III today, happy that the "new and improved" Rof finally got its career mode.. and I'm trying to be happy with the 60 bucks I forked over..  but how is this a improvement? What now we have a bland campaign in the semi-new engine?

 

And still my most wished for feature is missing, why in 2023 is it impossible to have Jasta`s and Squadrons be filled with the actual real life counterpart? Instead the Jasta is filled with names who mean jack ___ to me, I mean our Hauptmann is Harald Hoffman, and why would I care if Karl Meyer, Paul Schultz etc dies? But when I look at the world news top aces list it shows Richthofen, Wolff, Voss, Lothar but well where are they? 

 

We were told somewhere in 2011 that their tech couldn`t do it.. but apparently nothing changed since then?

 

Still when I fly around all planes are covered in their default skin..  and yet when I played Red Baron 3D when I saw that Green Eindecker heading my way I was shitting bricks, holy __ its Max Immelman, I`m dead!

 

And now I'm oh, hey there`s some planes to kill over there, ooh look his name is Joe Average, die Joe die, oh nice I got a medal, and Heinrich Schreiber died on the mission, oh no..not Heinrich.

 

Can someone point me towards the actual changes between the Rof and FCIII campaign? because I'm severely miffed right here.

 

Or if else, can someone let me know if its possible to get a refund?

Don't bother with it mate... it's pants at the moment, and with the state of the AI it's even worse.

Until FC4 is complete with a handful of missing aeroplanes, and then the map has to be completed, you will be wasting your time... hopefully when it's more or less feature complete things will improve (crossing my fingers here).

You are better off sticking with RoF if you want to play career type mode...

You can download Patrick Wilson Campaign Generator PWCG. That uses real pilot names and if you get correct skins you're on your way. Also it cover units that FC career doesn't. For instance Jasta 6 and 18 are two that FC doesn't make available. I can't see why FC career mode doesn't have real pilots names, they always have some excuse for something being too difficult or too much bother.

It's not just skins and mods that try to brighten up the career side of things... it's mainly the lack of aeroplanes still to be added to the career that are missing, and you will have to wait another year before FC4 eventually gets finished.

So yeah, I think we were still waiting for the Rof career to be finished right?.

 

Never mind folks, thanks for the information, I'll just consider this one of those purchases you make at the checkout register which you later regret.. I'm not (again) going to depend om Mods to fix what a developer should have included.

 

Basically selling the ROF campaign, again..   wtf man.
