Force Feedback Issues

I might be flogging e dead horse here but I have to ask..........

Will the force feedback issues in CloD EVER be addressed?

Losing force feedback when:

1) Shooting machine guns first ( before cannon )

2) Dropping bombs

3) Coming off autopilot ( not always but very often )

is a real pain.

Slowing down your aircraft to below 300kmh ( seems to be the figure that does it ) is just a disaster, especially in combat.

Even then, after 'recovery' of the FF, very often when continuing play and pulling a high G maneuver, the stick will 'override' and become floppy again.

The same goes for the aircraft trim.

The trim setting is lost once the guns are fired ( cannon and machine guns )

Any chance of this long standing problem getting fixed??

Hi Ace

The stick going floppy at near stall is a indicator you are losing lift... and is a good guide to flying close to the edge.

What FFB settings are you using?  Default or modified ones?

The stick floppiness is control by the spring.ffe effects file. Something is happening to periodically disable the spring effect. Perhaps when certain other ffb effects are activated the spring effect is disabled.

@Bf109Ace Nice find on this timing dependency. I've verified it's true with cannon armed Spitfires. Spitfires with only machine guns do not lose spring effect after firing. I also noticed after the cannon armed Spitfire recovers spring, through high G maneuvers, that it doesn't lose it again through subsequent MG only firing (in the short term).

FFB was greatly improved in a patch a year or two ago that fixed the over powering autocannon effect. Solving this spring issue would give us excellent ffb support.

Hi Buzz,

I have always used the default settings since the cannon effect was 'toned down'.

As far as the stall effects goes, we used to get a shudder on the stick when approaching a stall, now nothing.

The kite ( Bf109 ) just 'flips over' without much/any? warning
