Necroposting

I have noticed numerous threads locked out with the comment "no necroposting". I'm curious as to why this is a no=no. I see nothing referring to this in the rules. Some old threads are sometimes still relevant and I don't see the harm in reviving them. What am I missing? Would it be better to start a new thread and reference the old post?

I'm not trying to be belligerent... and I don't really have a dog in the fight... just curious.

I agree, a thread from (checks calendar), a little over one and a half years ago, that speaks to the (still) relatively new C-47, shouldn't just be tossed in the dumpster, requiring a new thread.  Not going against any mod's decisions (as that's also not allowed), but thinking that we could use some more clarity on this rule, and what truly constitutes a necro-thread.

The closed topic was about stock skins they wanted to see included with the C-47. If someone wants to see new skins made, ask away in the skins section. ? Digging up a 2-year-old topic here in the main forum to ask for a skin to be made is not the right place.

That all makes sense.

Where to we inquire about MiG 15 bis or F-84 skins? ?

The answer is simple, if you don't want people posting in a 'necro thread', then remove the bloody thread completely...
