taffy2jeffmorgan Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Hi All, Started flying the Me410 and the first thing that I have noticed is the front gunsight is not aligned to the eye line on my screen, I use TrackIR head movement sensor and I have a button assigned on my joystick to center the gunsight, this works well with all my other aircraft in BoS but not the 410. how can I rectify this ? Cheers

Cheers You have to use the keys above the cursor keys to move your head postion then save the position.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted November 28, 2023 Author Posted November 28, 2023 Thanks both shall give it a try.
ACG_Bussard Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 You are absolutely right with your observation. The installation instructions (e.g. Revi 16B installation folder, publication 127-405 B/3 dated March 1942) clearly state that "the mounting plate must be installed in such a way that when the Revi (gunsight) is mounted, the illuminated reticle can be fully seen by the pilot with his right eye in a comfortable head position". This is clearly not the case in the modelled Me 410. It is beyond my knowledge why the developers did not orientate themselves on the known historical regulations. Fortunately, we have a workaround to the previously described change of the camera view to circumvent the uselessness of the Gunsights. But it should be noted that back then you didn't have to adjust the pilot's seat or stretch your head to have a view in the line of sight. In short: the head did not go to the sight, but the sight went to the head. P.S. You could write this as a suggestion or complaint in the relevant thread. But please don't get your hopes up for a correction. Myself left it alone, although it bothers me too.
1CGS LukeFF Posted November 28, 2023 1CGS Posted November 28, 2023 The thing with the Me 410 is that it had multiple gunsights that all had their unique height positions. In an ideal scenario, there would be a preset camera position for each one, but the code doesn't support that right now. 9 hours ago, Bussard* said: But it should be noted that back then you didn't have to adjust the pilot's seat Are you sure about that? Seems like that would be one of the main purposes of having an adjustable seat.

Yes, otherwise the seat adjustments for visor alignment would have been mentioned in the 39-page installation instructions quoted above. 1
