In the final version? :) I hope it will be soon too, but .... no editor = no custom MP maps or missions (like cooperative tasks)

wow, this is a good news, because that will help to practice with somes friends  in hosting somes games

I hope it will be possible before the release, it's still a long time... And practicing on public servers is waay too dangerous

Well, seriously, for anything other than deathmatch, various team trainings, would really be great to make it possible early!

Coop is a must or a which for many but difficult do do to the designers of the game. Do not forget coop is multiplayer with single players artificial intelligence!

Do not forget that RoF/BoS multiplayer, coop or not, can include AI.

Having spent a long time trying to get Clod to do what my squadron wanted it to do - that is: launch IL2 '46-style coops - I have thought long and hard about this. I think the crucial point is the "Start Battle" button. Let me explain. (AND STOP FIDGETING AT THE BACK!)

For an MP coop in '46, there is a sequence of events. 1) Everyone joins a game (in HL, usually). 2) The host launches the game and the mission loads on everyone's computers. 3) The players pick "slots". 4) When everyone's ready, the host clicks the "Start Battle" (or "Launch Mission" or whatever button.

You will notice that the "Start Battle" stage (stage 4) comes after the picking slots phase (stage 3). This allows people to go to the little boys' room, make a "refreshments" run to the fridge, untangle any unfortunately twisted underwear, etc. In short it allows everyone to get ready and for the host to launch when everyone is ready to go. Timing the start correctly is often important in some types of mission design.

RoF also uses this sequence.

CloD, however, upends the natural order of things, resulting in fire, brimstone, knashing of teeth and the end of civilization as we know it. The sequence is as follows: 1) The host launches the server (and may indeed already click the "start battle" button, but that's a different story). It has to be a DF server because "coop" doesn't exist, despite the CloD graphical user frustrataface. 2) People join the server. Now, let's say, the host is trying to do a coop thang with the DF server he's just launched. He'll wait until everyone is staring mindlessly at the "Waiting for Battle" screen. Then, finally, he'll 3) click "Start Battle". 4) Pilots feverishly pick their slots (either spawn points or AI drones they can take over). The mission proceeds with angst and chaos.

You will observe that in addition to the tedium of staring at the wating for battle screen (why oh why can't the game display the frigging briefing?), stages 3 and 4 and reversed. Despite any bleating from the "coops are obsolete, man!" faction, the fact remains that this shuffling of stages 3 and 4, picking slots and hitting the "Start Battle" button torpedos coops. But even a DF server can be launched as if it was a coop, if stages 3 and 4 are restored to normal. Everyone who wants to picks a slot, then the host starts the battle.

So here's what I would like for BoS: the RoF coop mode, and perhaps the ability to launch DF missions in the coop style, allowing people to pick their slots first. People could also perhaps join late if they wanted to (and if the host let them), but the teamplay that coops encourage would be sustained.

All right. We'll finish there. Don't forget to write up your notes. We'll have a test next lesson.

They already said the FMB editor will come, and if the title goes well, I think they will make a less complex editor Yo-Yo, and for the Coop, Clod is just different, But as you can say, It is more simple the 46/ROF style, so 99% of the folks will be pleasured about that.
