Cannot start Il2-COD Blitz from Steam

Hi

 

I cannot start IL2 COD from Steam anymore.

 

I press the button and it start to launch and then stops after 3 to 4 seconds. Starting from the launcher on my D drive does not work either.

 

This is approx. since 17 Nov 2023 and Steam support suggest to check with the game support.

I am running Window11, my machine is a PREDATOR HELIOS 300 (core i7 16GB RAM NVIDIA RTX 20606 with up to date driver).

 

I am desperate for I was about to final test a 38+ missions campaign that took 2 years for me to develop.

Can you help me?

Game is using the wrong or dubious config files.

 

The solution:

Search for a folder called 1c SoftClub / il2 Sturmovik cliffs of dover. 

Rename all instances you find (or just delete them if you don't have any config or files you care about).

 

Edit: the campaign you created may be in one of these folders. So be careful with what you delete. 

 

Restart the game. 

 

Play around and close it. 

 

Repeat the search. There should be a new folder somewhere with the same name. And your renamed one next to it. Thats the correct path. 

 

Decide wether you want to copy your ini files from the old folder to the new one or start you config anew. 

 

Then delete all that you had renamed. Leave the new one that was created.
