tattywelshie Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Wow, December promises to be an exciting month, some great updates, love the look of the glider! I'm guessing then, there'll be a selection of new mission types for career mode based on the gliders?
JG4_Moltke1871 Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Like I assumed, an update firework with end of 2023…. Don’t wait too long with the announcement of FC4 or the FC collector package or however you will call it ? 3
pasao Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 UAAAHHHHH!!!!! Wow, without words, impressive, each time better than previous Preparing the wallet for the new projects, you have a permanent customer here Tons of time enjoyed with your creations 1 1 1
Jade_Monkey Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Pretty cool, excited to see the new category in action. However, you know the news we are actually looking forward to ?
ACG_Bussard Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Wow. I think it's cool that we even get our own map texture for the carnival season! ? Will the Western Front Map get any other upgrades to the pale, uninspired No Mans Land?
Blitzen Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Fun to see the different Waco load outs deploy...if they can ? 3
BlitzPig_EL Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 A drivable Jeep with towable 75mm howitzer or 37mm anti tank gun that we could actually use would be a lot of fun on tank maps. 2 2
=FR=kgb613 Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I was thinking about it since C-47 announcement, even the possibility of multicrew in multiplayer and you did it. I love you. Probably sure if the Waco see enjoyment you will give us the Horsa too. Can't wait to make "controled crash" dodging cows, trees and trying to brake on wet Normand grass. Now I am dreaming about a B-26 for US forces and a B-25 for British and Soviet forces, bringing us a medium bomber for allied troop. Surely the A-20 will be available in Normandy and Bodenplatte career, but it's another aircraft class. 1
MAJ_stug41 Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) Would it be possible to allow a player to switch between controlling the c47, and the glider? Imagine allowing a player to pilot the c47 until time for releasing the glider, at which point the player can switch to the glider, then an AI handle taking the c47 home. This would require a whole new mechanism, but perhaps the existing function for jumping in to planes as gunners could in some way be repurposed. Edited November 24, 2023 by MAJ_stug41 6
BladeMeister Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Thank you for the DD today even with the update earlier this week. It will be interesting to see what sort of missions the WACO will receive. Will the C47 have new missions in career mode that will include towing the WACO to a predetermined drop waypoint? Anyhow it seems we will have an exciting Christmas ? with the release of the WACO and the IAR80. Can't wait! S!Blade<><

I would be a little surprised if they did, but honestly I think flying the glider the whole way would probably be more fun, holding your tow position for the whole length of the flight could be quite a bit of effort.
Noisemaker Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I'm curious how career mode will be implemented for glider pilots. 50/50 chance of capture (assuming surviving the landing)? 3
R33GZ Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Those poor 'pilots', it must have been terrifying. Flying an overloaded, unpowered aircraft behind enemy lines. With some of the ridiculous load outs attempted, they must've had the flight characteristics of a winged brick! 1
LuftManu Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Xmas gifts will be fun, very fun! Thanks team! Kind regards,
Flying_Anchor Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I really wish you'll update WWI planes AI. Now it's like shootink turkeys. Bots maneuver like in WWII planes. 3
guitargameguitargamery Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I have to say that i bought just everything from IL2 i had to, i have been in DCS for years almost 2000h and now, after having this Sim for some years but no flight time, im having a blast, and i have to say what brought me to this Sim (again) was watching the amazing dedication of the developers, at least 1 or 2 a week i would see updates in steam , and that made me think a lot because to be honest I'm getting so much bored at DCS( and i have 95% of all modules, all campaigns and maps) but ED isn't going where i would like to go, so ... i am having a blast with this Sim, i have started with career mode, I'm reading all the pilot´s biography and back story and that makes it so much more immersive. Really digesting these missions slowly and one by one, yesterday i have bought all the planes and campaigns that were missing with the amazing sale, i see cant use many of them yet in career mode but I'm not rushing this because i don't remember to have such immersion in a flight simulator. There is something about IL2 field of view that almost feels you are in a scale 1 to 1( i have a 55inch Monitor slash TV 120hz tho) , the sound is amazing (first time almost blew my ears was too loud) just to say congratz to these developers for the great effort and feel of this combat Sim. I believe it is possible to add Mods so in the future im trying them, need to see how it is done. Now this is my go to Sim after working in my Music production studio, i had to thank you guys for this, i already took all the assists off and its hard even to know where i am, but is amazing how much pleasure this is giving me, i printed the map on a sheet so i can follow roads and know my targets etc, in 20 hours i just did 2 missions...but successfully. CHEERS GUYS AND SORRY FOR THIS LONG DOSSIER, we surely are lucky to have this Sim. Portugal-Lisbon here 4 1 5
JG4_Moltke1871 Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Jesus…. After an accurate view I see we have Paris on the map ? Please give us long range bomber missions in Career ?? I also hope for targets/citys/factory’s in the German rear, the map is big enough ? 1 1
babymihai Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I am convinced that this glider was in the plane before the IAR-80! Like all the news about fc 2! I appreciate that nothing is being done for an emblematic plane that caused a lot of damage both in the east and in the west. success, make all the planes in the world except the Romanian ones 6

So it sucks that it took two years for us to hear anything substantial about it, and you can fault the devs for that. But, they said winter 2023 in the newest roadmap, and they'll either be meeting that or get close to it. 2
IckyATLAS Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Excellent news, promises are kept. I am very thrilled about the Waco and it seems the flying model will be "sophisticated" with a realistic towing cable dynamics. I also see the Waco will have various cargo loading possibilities. If only you could do this for the Normandy landing ships and have them equipped with a selection of Cargo: soldiers, jeeps, a tank etc.. Anyway keep up with the excellent development rhythm, you rock.?

And there isn't much of Germany on the map. However, there are (large) factories are already on the current map, look for the steel works near Thionville. But indeed, more will be added. 2
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Looking forward to the 4 seasons, and additional FC aircraft. Really hoping a Nieuport 24, and some float planes are in the plans for Flying Circus. 1 1
IckyATLAS Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 The map will be richer than the one once created for Rise of Flight: it will feature five (!) seasons, including late fall, and the Pilot Career mode will include all Flying Circus aircraft. This moment will be the fulfillment of our long-standing idea to have a second edition of our team's first project - Rise of Flight - on a new engine, using modern technologies. The release of the third part of Flying Circus will not be the end, however - the work on recreating a bit more of the WWI land-based aircraft in the world of "Great Battles" will continue in the near future, the work on it has already begun. From this text excerpt from the last dev blog, I can infer that Rise of Flight or say WWI theater has completely overtaken WWII that will be closed at the end of this year. Now that it is clear the team dreams of WWI and now that "finally" we have Rise of Flight with improved technology I see a future made by a completely new WWI battle and not at all WWII or later battles like Korea or anything else. Forget all that. WWI is here to stay because when you are in your "dream" you do not want to wake up ? . 1
Rhan_N_Singh Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Did anyone else notice something peculiar in this last line? " ...the work on recreating a bit more of the WWI land-based aircraft in the world of "Great Battles" will continue in the near future, the work on it has already begun." The statement of land-based aircraft... Why state "Land-based"? To me this would appear as a hint that the long awaited sea-based aircraft are in the works?? I beseech thee to confirm my hopes and dreams of returning to sea planes, the like of which I have not seen since the original IL-2 games.?

We have already been informed that there will be no seaplanes, no channel map, no WWI Eastern Front map or planes, no plans for the other Albatros D.II Late that is missing, no FM improvements planned etc...

I think it's more likely that they specify land-based aircraft because there will not be sea-based aircraft ? I mean they can't really be any more direct in saying what they will do. I feel bad for the WWII guys of course but you can't ignore what the devs are saying. WW1 is in, WWII is out (Korea is a thought bubble). Bring on FC5 with the channel, seaplanes, Italy, remodeled NML, aircraft carriers .... and night fighters. 1
Vishnu Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I can't wait for the IAR 80! Would be a great Christmas present!!
S10JlAbraxis Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 (edited) Perhaps FC5 could be about giant WW1 airship battles over the channel. Could be dedicated PVP where you customize your baloon with things like titanium armor and force fields to duke it out with energy weapons and rail guns in one on one and many vs many battles to the death or ultmate baloon glory! This could also feature, for the first time, on foot action where the player can jet pack over to enemy balloons and fight to the death in the giant labyrinth of complex rooms and control centers in enemy baloons! Time for another beer. Edited November 26, 2023 by S10JlAbraxis Time for another beer. 5

If WWI is to be then I want to have the flyable Zeppelins, loaded with bombs or with airplanes that are suspended under their belly and that can be let free and flown by us. Then I may start to be interested. Edited November 26, 2023 by IckyATLAS
