Spitfire IX Merlin 66/70 missing take off engine regime?

Currently the Spitfire IX has follwoing engine regimes:

12lbs/2850rpm for 1h climb

18(25)lbs/3000rpm WEP 5min.

currently due to the timer mechanic time on all out MAP can increased be reducing rpm (though this should probably be fatal to your engine and is forbidden by the manuals).

The P-51, with the same engine cannot exploit this glitch since it has an additional engine regime (61in/3000rpm) so reducing rpm will not increase time on WEP MAP.

The Spitfire seems to be missing such an engine regime (which would probably correct that WEP MAP glitch), namely take off power 12lbs/3000rpm for 5min.

I know this seems like a nerf to the Spitfire (which is my favourite plane), but the way the timer mechanic is implemented in this game this should probably be corrected.

And across all planes, reducing rpm below the manual approved corresponding MAP setting, especially at high/all out MAPs, should be forbidden across all engines/nations and the engine timer mechanic should be reworked/be a bit more relaxed and we should have the option disable that and fly the engines restricted by the other limits.

Not sure if it relates but I believe the engine timer is kicking in for max continuous (ie you see the combat technochat) for the Vb and IX when it should not. This is my very repeatable experience anyway. It's possible that this is slightly skewing things higher up the power curve. Generally, I think it makes you carry a lower power setting than you should have to.

I have reported the max cont issue to the dev team and have been hoping it would be fixed at some point when time is available.

@Stonehouse

yeah, that could also be...

somehow this weird timer mechanic needs at at least a serious overhaul. there are too many thinks just flat out wrong there
