Main menu mouse won't click.

Hi.

I never had this issue for years and I'm expecting it's something messed up by Microsoft in a Windows 11 update some time ago.

When I start the game the mouse is frozen. Never used to be. So Alt Tab and click on the tray icon and it moves. It also will highlight the menue options but the click does nothing.

Also escape does nothing.

So it's like all keyboard or button inputs do nothing all of a sudden.

Only way to close the game is to force it from the windows tray.

I have tried different mice and running it as admin mode and old windows compatibility mode and a bunch of other things you can click, but none of this makes any difference. I don't think it's anything like this kind of issue.

It's a recent clean install of Windows 11. Will post the hardware specs this evening. Can't get near it till the kids go down.

But it's an AMD Ryzen and gpu of a B450 main mord I think.

Have had a similar issue with warthunder where is all starts and runs as long as you keep the windows start bar up. Click on the game tab and it crashes instantly. I have the feeling these are related.

Not had any issue in years with same hardware. Am I'm really stuck now. All the mouse fixes don't work.

Though I do have a vague memory of something thike this once before with IL2 but I can't remember now.

Most other games work. I simply need some help.

Thanks.

S!

In what mode do you run the game? Pseudo, Windowed or Fullscreen? I run in Fullscreen and never had this issue. Also never force any settings thru the GPU, use Application settings If possible.

Hi.

I think it's in full screen. I'm assuming you can check from the config file as I can't open settings.

But I don't know what numbers relate to what mode.

I will look at it later.

Just come down ill so may not get the chance today.

Another thing to try is to delete cache folder from c:\documents\1c softclub Also if you have config files there, back them up and delete whole 1C SoftClub folder and launch game. It will create it again.

OK so I tried that and it did nothing.

I did do some messing about.

Screen mode seems to make no difference. In fact I haven't managed to start it Windowed. If toy know where to set that pleas tell me.

Now if I delete all the controllers it had logged. It comes up with the window in the picture.

Now the mouse works. But I can only click cancel. If I press enter it will accept anyway.

I even tried in the file reasighning the mouse click to a keyboard button. Still nothing.

It's like I can't click anything except on the left half of the screen.

It highlights the menue and makes the sound. But nothing will click the right half.

It's really weird.

Also just tried uninstalling all drivers and reinstalling.

The only other thing is to reinstall the game from scratch.

Somehow I'm not convinced any of this will work.

You are asking questions about the GREAT BATTLES series... this is the CLIFFS OF DOVER series section.

I am moving the file.

OK so it's working.

For anybody following this story.

I installed a pcie usb card. And boom it works. I also added more ram but I'm sure it's the usb card that's done it.

Now I don't know if its a dodgy peripheral upsetting the usb or my mainboard dying or what. But it now works.

So that's it for now.

Wouldn't be the first motherboard that the usb has died on me.
