Dear VR community,

Has anyone come up with a solution/device to substitute totally the mouse while checking the map in VR?

I barely use the mouse for anything except for nagivating the map, clicking to get more information, zooming and moving the map quickly. I tried to use joystick hat but it is not very practical nor quick.

Many thanks in advance,

Y.

I know a lot of VR people switch to a trackball style mouse? Maybe you could try that.

That way the mouse can't move, stays in one easy to grab place so you know where it is all the time with the VR headset on your face.

I know for me once I get my Buttkicker cranked up in my Obutto Ozone cockpit, my mouse will fall off the keyboard track from the vibrations. I usually have to put my phone on it to block it from shaking off the tray.

I use this Logitech M570 trackball image.jpeg.ef86685d3760d72a6e22933ecc53d27f.jpeg

I'm lucky I started using it while consulting because I had to use my laptop in small spaces sometimes or mouse on my knee and I got used to using it now I often prefer it for some thing.

If we can use this in DCS with all the clicky cockpits, it's very easy to use for the map in IL2

You do it exclusively with the tracking ball?
