Slotermeyer Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I mapped elevator trim buttons "up" and "down" in both Bf109 and FW90 planes and they do nothing. I noticed there is also an elevator trim axis in the key mappings, which I mapped onto an analog switch on warthog throttle, and this works in planes that have that "trim wheel" (like Ju87) but nothing works in Bf109 and FW90, what am I missing here?
Riderocket Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 The bf109 and fw190 use a horizontal stabilizer rather then trim. There should be an option in mappings for stabilizer. 1 1

As a general rule, if the control in the cockpit is an "analog/axis" wheel or lever, it can be bound to either an axis or a controller/keyboard "push button". If the control in the cockpit is a push button or a rocker switch, it can ONLY be bound a controller/keyboard "push button". Some planes have their model type listed next to the key bindings listing. The 109 has a listing for the stabilizer -which can be an axis or a push key/button. The 190 has only push button trim controls, therefore can only be bound as a key/button. As another example, the Pe-2 ser.35 has up/down rocker switches for all trims and the RPM control too. All must be bound to keys or buttons. The Pe-2 ser.87 however, has the same trims but, the RPM control is an in-cockpit wheel. For this series the RPM control can be bound to a controller axis or a key/button. The trims still need to be set with keys/buttons only. 1
BMA_FlyingShark Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Like the real ones, none of both have elevator trim, they have stabilizer trim instead, that's what you have to look for in your settings. Then, the 109 has analog control and can be mapped to a slider or rotary but the 190 can only trim it's stabilizer with buttons as it was in the real one. Hope this info helps. Have a nice day. 1
