Using Keyboard and Axis to one control & odd behaviour

As I've been messing around with some of my hardware noticed a couple of oddities and wondered if anyone else has had similar experiences with either of the 2 I've noticed or others

First was the Propeller RPM, both work for the aircraft I've tested that have a prop RPM lever. However with the 109s if the Prop RPM is set to Manual, Prop Pitch/RPM can be adjusted using the keyboard, but not an axis bound to it and wondered why?

Second was the Brake Lever found in the Spitfires, Tempests, Typhoons etc: If an axis is added to the wheelbrake, then the keyboard command applies the brake lever, but doesn't release. The axis control is at minimum when testing and not touched. Unless I've got it wrong I can asign an axis and that works, but it screws with the keyboard command.

That's only the examples I found in setting my controls up with a limited number of aircraft, there are probably more. Neither represent a problem to me but not ideal.

Like with the stabilizer trim in the FW 190s, the prop pitch (in fact it was RPM) in the Bf 109s wasn't an axis IRL, it was a switch at the throttle lever RPM higher/lower. So it makes sense to model it that way in game as well.

The buttons and axis modeling in this game is a sh*t show.  They should just copy DCS's model and make it easier.  In fact, there are easier programs out there that make the process seamless.  It is frustrating, but I too have noted such behavior when I have axis and buttons binded to the same function....
