Il21943 Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 Hello, I was flying in QMB with Li-2 doing a paradrop mission. I got to the area and dropped my own successfully, however the two other aircraft in my flight that made it didn't drop. I get the standard "drop on my command" radio chatter (coming from my plane as I am the flight leader), but when I look for it in flight leader orders there is no such command. I tried telling them to attack ground targets, return to mission, and copy my actions but none worked. Do they drop automatically under met conditions or am I missing something? Thanks!
1CGS LukeFF Posted November 11, 2023 1CGS Posted November 11, 2023 They should drop them on their own, yes, but if they don't let me know and I will let the team know.
Il21943 Posted November 12, 2023 Author Posted November 12, 2023 Thanks for the response, I tried testing a few times again and they don't seem to drop. In addition, a lot of the time the AI flies really low and does not climb with me despite giving them orders (and I usually climb based on what the mission map says at waypoints). They end up crashing a lot and not even reaching the destination. I always make sure to do 50% or less fuel like you should with the Li2 with payload, maybe the Ai does not do this? Thanks.

Only when you are the squadron leader, you can change the loadout of your flight. But when you are the squadronleader, you have to do this for each aircraft in your mission. The AI aircrafts won't do this automatically, based on your loadout.

It is also strange that they only crash sometimes...

To be squadron leader, you select 'From beginning' in 'Command your Unit', when starting a new career. When you get a mission, the mission board will look like this. Click on the tool right of the aircraft (you will have to do this for each pilot, you want to change the loadout) With the up and down arrows, you can also change the position in your flight for every pilot. When clicking on the 'x' at the right, you throw this pilot out of your flight. And by clicking on the arrow down, right to a name, you can replace a pilot. You can also add pilots up to eight pilots (nine in bomber/dive bomber flights). If you don't want to fly a certain mission, you can also take your pilot out of the flight and make it an AI flight, or you can add your pilot to a flight, you were not planned for. If your squadron has different aircraft types, you can change the aircraft a pilot is flying in the mission by clicking on the arrow right of the assigned aircraft type. after clicking on the tool, it will look like this here you can change the loadout for this pilot. Again, you have to do this for every pilot of your flight in every mission, you want to change.
