Hello, I have a quest 2, and an amd 6700 non xt card. My cpu is an amd 5800x.   I get  72 fps with drops around airfields and some artifacting when looking through the propeller, my settings are set to balanced, my spotting is pretty good, but Id is a different story.  I also am experiencing some reprojection in fast moving planes.

I would like to upgrade my graphics card .  Would an amd 7800xt be a good upgrade that would see an improvement in VR performance, or do I need to go Nvidia.  I like that the 7800xt is cheaper and more energy efficient, but I have heard that Nvidia does better in VR performance generally.  Is the 4070 a big enough performance boost over a 7800xt or  3080 to justify the price?

Thanks

I had a 6800XT a while back and it didnt do VR well for me at all. Things may have changed though. The 3080 I had did pretty well, and looks to be somewhat close to the 4070. Check the link out below for a performance chart...

I upgraded from an rx 6700 (non xt) with a 5600x to an rtx 4070 with a 5800x3d for my Pico 4. It was a massive improvement. I can't compare it to the 7800xt but the 4070 does support DLSS if you use the other combat sim. Maybe "the new project" will support DLSS too!? There are rumors of an rtx 4070 super to be announced soon so that might push the regular 4070 price down.

I believe the 4000 series supports DLSS 3 that doesn't do VR. 3000 series I believe should be able to use DLSS in the other sim in vr..

The other sim uses DLSS 3 but without frame generation. The rtx 4070 runs DLSS very well in VR.
