With the graphics pipeline now through the GPU rather than CPU, any thoughts on the contrails for the VU?

I remember quite a while back the issues with the particle limit causing the CPU to overload and a consequence was that all the particles and some graphics glitched to invisibility.

 

Now that TFS have re-routed or at least made the GPU responsible, will the VU also look at bringing back the 3D contrails that were tested a while back but look so much better than the 2D stripes?

Visibility range of contrails could use some work. The are visible from quite far out. In game they pop in pretty close. With extended visibility they do not need to be 3D. Sure they look cool though.
