=IRFC=DoubleTrouble Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Good morning everyone! I started not so long ago to make my own skin, and on one of them, I exported the dds file and put it on my skins file, it apears in game and i can select it, but for some reason it just has the default plane livery. I didn't managed to find on my own what I did wrong here, so i'm seeking for help Have a great day everyone!
GenMarkof007 Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 (edited) S! @DoubleTrouble Quick questions? 1- how did you save your DDS skin file (the more info the better)? 2- where did you place your DDS skin inside the IL2 Strumovik game folders? 3- how did you choose and open your DDS own plane skin in the game? ---- So first of all, all skin files need to be in DDS format, this can be done with the DDS format for Photoshop or Gimp app; After saving your DDS file, you need to put that file in (game folder)/data/graphics/skins/(your plane folder (ex. Bf109K4); After starting your game and getting in SP or MP mode, and selecting your AF and plane, in the plane mode you need to select (CUSTOM) to see any added DDS skins for that plane; Don't forget, when you do choose a CUSTOM file, try not to come back in the plane setup, sometimes, you may lose your setup stuff; If everything is working when in the game, you should see your plane skin! The best way to test this, go into Quick Mission, choose a single plane icon, choose your plane, and select your custom DDS file. When in the game, press F2 and you will see your plane from outside the cockpit! If you want, share me the DDS file of your plane and I will test it on my machine. If it's a problem with the DDS file, we will know. Hope this can help. Gen Edited November 4, 2023 by GenMarkof007 1
=IRFC=DoubleTrouble Posted November 10, 2023 Author Posted November 10, 2023 Thank you for your answer, as I figured out, the issue semmed to be that i had an "é" on my skin name, as soon as I got rid of it in the file's name and replaced it by an "e" it managed to work all fine. Thank you for your help and time! 1
