The "Ignore" function is your friend.

When a user's posts continually make you feel like reaching into your screen and grabbing him or her by the throat.....

 

.....just click your profile name in the upper right corner and add him or her to your "Ignored Users" list. Trust me, it's very calming. You are still able to see that user's posts, if you choose to. But if after adding them to your list you choose to reveal an "ignored" post, and it pisses you off, then that's on you, not on them.
