[Solved] TM TQS Viper problem with throttle axis

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi everyone,

I have  weird issues with my TQS throttle and IL2.

The device is recognized in the game (I can assign commands with it).

But the issues are :

- When I want to assign an axis (like the throttle axis), I move the throttle, but it appears as buttons in the command list, not axis ("joy10_b34/joy10_34" instead of "joy10_axis_x").

- Also, if I try to assign another command on the throttle axis (water rad for example), the buttons numbers are different ().

- But, the rotating buttons of my throttle (ant elev, man rng) are recognized as axis (appears as "joy10_axis_x" in the command list).

- At the end, none of the commands (axis, buttons, switches) assigned with the throttle work when I'm in flight.

Before I had the HOTAS Warthog (stick and throttle) and TPR. I only changed the throttle. Warthog stick and TPR are still working like before.

Driver has been installed, everything work well in DCS, and I'm not using TARGET.

Thx for help guys.

SOLUTION FOUND

It's necessary to change the position (on the throttle axis) where the button is activated.

To do so :

- Move the throttle to the new position where you want the button activated (in that case, 100 instead of ~80%)

- Press and hold for 2 seconds the paddle + the chaff/flare button (on the side)

I have some improvements :

After reseting all key bindings, the commands I assign on the throttle are working in flight.

But I still have the issue with the axis throttle. In fact, via windows parameters, I see that when I move the throttle, it react as an axis and buttons in the same time (Z axis and button n°19 on the picture).

And in the game, the buttons are detected before the axis when I move the throttle. Of course I tried to move the throttle between ~20 and ~80% to avoid the buttons being detected, but the axis is also not detected.

That seems like poor design.  Im still on the fence about getting that throttle and I am a viper driver in that other sim.

Hello,

I bought a Throttle TQS Viper... and I have problem.... I've tried all the instructions but the Viper throttle axis in IL2 still doesn't work for me.. only button 18 keeps switching... All other rotary axes work correctly (trim, zoom).

Does anyone know a trick to activate this axis? Viper works fine in all other games... the throttle axis works perfect.

Thank you.

I am having the same issue.  I do not want to try BlackHawks solution, because I think that would mess up the Viper TQS in Falcon BMS and DCS.  Has anyone had success in getting the Viper TQS throttle movements to work in IL 2, without having to recalibrate every time you want to switch from Falcon BMS and/or DCS to Il 2 Sturmovik BoS?

same issue, the proposed solution only resets the button triggered at the afterburner detent. Anyone find a real solution?

Hello.. my solution - adding a line to "global.actions" (I have only one profile in IL2 key settings)

..the number 1 means a change of movement, with 0 the throttle worked in reverse

try it. I hope it will help you.

The best method that I can find without having to reset the afterburner detent activation buttons is by editing the your key-mapping profile:
<Game folder>data>input>custom & edit the file using either Notepad or your preferred IDE. Make sure you correctly identify the ID of your throttle device (if you use multiple HOTAS setup like me). Find the line "Engines throttle control" and manually type in the axis of the device you want to assign.

What is paddle button? can you give them in numbers? 100% is a full afterburner? can you give link for a thrustmaster reply on this problem
